Description Erskine River mouth had been closed for several days after being artificially opened on 13 April. Lorne received 31 mm rainfall (as measured at North Lorne) on 30 April and 1 May. On the morning of 2 May mouth was observed to be naturally open. Height of cut was estimated to be 1.5 to 2 metres, by comparison with the height of a heron standing nearby. Photo was taken from GOR above EP3 and EP4. River height on depth gauge on bridge was 0.7m.
