#4981 30 Jun 2012 Approved Notes: Observation taken on the high tide. Ocean waves were washing into the estuary and causing the water in the lower part of the estuary to rise and fall by about 20 cm at the gauge board. The Powlett river was extemely high over the weekend of 23rd and 24th of June and also earlier in the month. High rainfall on the 21st and 22nd of June was responsible for closing many of the local roads and highways. Much debris has been deposited by the ocean waves inside the estuary on the eastern bank.
Very cold morning. NW wind Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
#4961 19 May 2012 Approved Notes: Sand bank to the west of the mouth has been gouged out considerably since the last observation. High rainfall over the last last few weeks has diverted the river mouth from the east to the west side of the rock shelf . The curve of the river has been reduced considerably by the high outflow in the past few weeks.
#4902 14 Apr 2012 Approved Notes: Since the last mouth observation the river mouth has moved to the east side of the rock platform. This could be to do with the larger than normal swell that occured over the Easter weekend.
