Thanks guys.  Data looks great for this time of year, particularly D.O. both above and below the salt-wedge, especially with the lack of rain we've had over the past 5 months (the lower salt layer can naturally become anoxic under these conditions).  Cheers Jarred.

Great bird observations once again & interesting (yet explainable) dataset with the low DOs in the deeper salt water layer.  This is seasonally typical however and we should see this flush out soon with the winter rains potentially upon us.  Thanks Jarred.

Great results everyone, thanks for this recent monitoring.  June rainfall has definitely impacted the water quality - in a good way - with the profile now well mixed with highly oxygenated freshwater.  More of this to come if the months ahead I think!  Thanks Jarred.

Thanks Gary & Rachel.  Very well mixed freshwater dominated profile at present.  Interestingly, D.O.s are slightly on the low side, but this is something we've seen during previous years in Sept/Oct.  Cheers Jarred.

Jarred - Great readings with an extremely distince saltwedge present - the season is changing!!  

As noted above D.O. failed to calibrate.

J.Obst - sorry to hear about the meter; i'll look into this for you.  Other readings show a very distinct salt-wedge which reflects the recent dry weather and summer flow reduction.

Jarred - thanks everyone for your monitoring.  Results are very interesting, particularly the low D.O, but I believe your values are true and have picked up on an algal bloom.  This is quite common in this part of the estuary, and i've since seen some very high and very low readings over each diurnal (daily) cycle as the algal produces oxygen during sunlight, and then consumes it during darkness!
