Thanks everyone!  Results remain really interesting and fantastic photopoints capturing the current mouth condition.  Interestingly, there's been enough flow to keep the mouth open, but not enough to completely flush the lower depths which still contain some older salty water.  It will be very interesting to see if tomorrow's results have improved the lower depths given we've had a fantastic month of autumn rainfall which has resulted in the first sign of freshwater inflows into our estuaries.  Regards Jarred.

We returned to Edwards Bridge for this session.

Pacific black duck, Chestnut teal.

Jarred - thanks everyone for your monitoring.  Results are very interesting, particularly the low D.O, but I believe your values are true and have picked up on an algal bloom.  This is quite common in this part of the estuary, and i've since seen some very high and very low readings over each diurnal (daily) cycle as the algal produces oxygen during sunlight, and then consumes it during darkness!

As noted above D.O. failed to calibrate.

White faced Heron, Moorhens

J.Obst - sorry to hear about the meter; i'll look into this for you.  Other readings show a very distinct salt-wedge which reflects the recent dry weather and summer flow reduction.

Jarred - Great readings with an extremely distince saltwedge present - the season is changing!!

Thanks Gary & Rachel.  Very well mixed freshwater dominated profile at present.  Interestingly, D.O.s are slightly on the low side, but this is something we've seen during previous years in Sept/Oct.  Cheers Jarred.
