No wind
Flow initially slow downstream but then started going back upstream with translucent 'skeins' across water surface visible. Flow about 5 min. later stopped then started to move slowly downstream for very short period then returned to upstream (possibly coincided with low tide)
Main river channel was flowing extremely fast
