  • Mouth closed no waves over at last hi tide
  • Berm higher with more sand on ocean side
  • Rock almost completely covered by sand
  • Beach horseshoe shaped, very wide & gently sloping
  • Deep water across low track ( shallow near car park) but only at edge of top track. Some puddles & damp areas in camp ground
  • Bad smell noted from wetlands after hot/humid conditions (over 40c. temp. days)

  • No flow , mouth barred but some waves over berm at last hi tide
  • Berm increased in height
  • Attempted illegal opening last night(?) but currently no out flow as waves have been over this area on a wide front infilling the dug out drain
  • Beach horseshoe shaped, south west waves have strongly impacted mid beach with longshore drift travelling back to mouth. Sand is building up higher at both ends of beach
  • Last 2 day about 40c.temp but strong se wind today has created turbulence & estuary surprisingly clear of algae, small fish noted along s side
  • Water up to car park along low track but top track only damp
  • Many Squid carapaces, dead moths & small blue jellyfish along swash line
  • Dead Albatross found near mouth oxer past week
  • Silver gulls (7) feeding along swash line

  • Mouth closed, no flow but swash line indicates waves have been high on beach then travelled west behind berm into channel
  • Berm higher, highest point about 20-40m. east of mouth (lower across mouth)
  • 2nd. rock in channel nearly covered with sand
  • Beach horseshoe shaped lowest area mid beach
  • Large slip has occurred along cliff at next beach to east, much sand being eroded
  • Dead White faced Petrol

  • Mouth barred 16th Dec. pm. but evidence of waves over berm during last night - no out flow
  • AHD nearly the same level at G6 (1.02) & G2 (1.01)
  • almost no flow at G6
  • Waves going high up on beach with longshore drift taking flow west to mouth
  • large rafts of algae forming along side riparian vegetation at sides of estuary

  • Slight pale discharge out around mouth & about 40m. to left, mouth extremely shallow
  • Greatly reduced flow (low tide) with more sand at entrance & in channel
  • Flow only between rocks & cliff face
  • High sand build up immediately east of rocks

  • Active longshore drift
  • No of small fish along east side of estuary has increased
  • More algae forming along east side of estuary

  • Beach has returned to horseshoe shape but more sand close to mouth

  • Pale discharge out around mouth & along shore line to east
  • Strong longshore drift across weak outflow over a very shallow area in front of rocks, flow only between rocks & cliff
  • More sand at mouth & along most of the channel, the east side of which has sheer side suggesting a recent release
  • Ocean beach is changing shape - sand projection has formed in the west half of the curve, sand cliffs near mid beach have been slightly smoothed out, waves are still going high up in low area mid beach
  • Many small moth's wings & squid carapaces in swash line east side of channel
  • Sand bar exposed
  • Large no. small fish along east side of estuary especially near seagrass & water growing vegetation
  • Algae forming along eastside of estuary

  • Small area of dark discharge east of mouth being held back by longshore drift travelling toward & across the mouth, waves in all directions in that area with occasional wave entering channel
  • More sand at mouth & along channel
  • Sand cliff at mid beach increased in height but recent rough seas have reduced the high build up just east of mouth
  • Tern fishing along foreshore & along channel
  • Many small fish in water filled channels around vegetation along low track (east side of est.)

  • Flow further reduced only very slight pale discharge at mouth
  • Extremely shallow around mouth -more sand also in channel (steep east side 20-30cm)
  • Very strong longshore drift impacting on rocks & cliff then travelling upstream
  • waves have been high on beach & 2nd smaller sand cliff has formed in front of existing one
  • Waves high up over a smooth area mid beach & travelling to west behind a large sand build up near mouth where they enter over rocks & upstream

  • Area between rocks & sea very shallow, also upstream rocks
  • Waves entering both sides of rocks but flow out only between rocks & cliff
  • High sand with sheer face formed at mid beach (2m +)extending toward east but area near mouth is rounded off
  • Hooded Plover tracks toward east end of beach

  • Only very slight discharge at mouth
  • Waves in all directions at mouth with strong longshore drift. Occasional waves entering both sides of rocks
  • Sand build up has increased around mouth & in channel
  • The path of last weeks longshore drift entry around mouth & upstream of rocks has been cut away -there is now a sheer east side to channel (60-80cm high)
  • Ocean beach still horseshoe shaped with steep slope to ocean, sand cliff at east end remains

  • Flow out but only between rock & cliff face - strong cascade in that area
  • Ocean beach has been affected by rough seas with short swell duration & is now undulating with a short sheer faced sand cliff formed 2/3rds east from mouth
  • Signs of strong longshore drift along beach front impacting on mouth and upstream rocks where sand can be seen starting to build up in channel
  • 60cm.+ sheer east side to channel downstream rocks where it meets the sea
  • Active strong longshore drift with waves in all directions at mouth

  • Dark discharge flowing strongly out, around mouth to the east along foreshore. Also to west & out to sea
  • Waves entering channel & travelling north & east in estuary
  • Ocean beach very wide with higher area at east end
  • Severe impact from recent high seas -damage to all dunes & new 1-2m deep channels cut through formerly sand filled rocky areas at east end of beach. Low track much debris & erosion
  • Small waves travelling across uncovered sand bar in estuary
  • North end of channel where it turns into estuary has sheer sides about 20-40m high

  • Dark discharge out around mouth into high sea
  • Waves entering across a wide area up channel travelling north & east (wind driven)- in all directions at mouth
  • Waves up to base of dunes & more damage both here & in estuary from high sea 31/07/14
  • While water is currently dark & dirty it was reported that 'clear green water with wind slop waves 30cm. high' was going up past Princetown township on 31/07/14)

  • Beach wide & gently sloping to sea
  • Sandbar exposed & low track only has water in deep channels
  • East side of channel where it turns east into estuary has steep, sheer side (1m.) rest of channel downstream has been smoothed out
