  • Rough sea- waves high up on beach & entering over a wide shallow area. Longshore drift active. Beach highest at east end
  • Small waves entering estuary
  • Area around rocks shallow & channel width has reduced
  • Large amount of seaweed & debris along swash line on ocean beach, down east side of channel & on south side of estuary
  • Increased erosion along east side of estuary from high sea (11/09/14)

  • Dark discharge out around mouth, out to sea & to west. Slight paler discharge along foreshore
  • Sea moderate but occasional large waves on to shore.
  • Strong rip & longshore drift , waves in all directions at mouth with occasional small wave entering channel
  • Ocean beach undulating with steep drop to ocean in some areas, dark silt deposit along swash line
  • Water levels low in estuary exposing very large areas of sand - especially on south side of estuary
  • White Egret on side of channel, Rufus Bristlebird at Gp1

  • Pale discharge around mouth & to south & West but difficult to see because of waves & foam
  • Waves in all directions at mouth with strong longshore drift & rip. Waves high near shore but calmer out to sea
  • Waves have been high on beach overnight- green veg & Stick Caddis (east side of Channel) along swash line may indicate a strong release from recent rainfall
  • Some small waves entering channel (channel average of about 18m. wide )
  • Large area of the sandbar, south side, & low track exposed
  • White Egret fishing along east side of channel
  • More damage to east side of estuary from recent rough sea

  • Waves entering channel which is wide, dark coloured & deep
  • Longshore drift active
  • Sand bar has new formation - some small waves going over(close to hi tide)
  • 1 pelican,1 cormorant, 3 Silver Gulls,1 White egret & a Pelican on sand bar
  • Beach still high at east end & starting to form curve along foreshore

  • Dark discharge flowing strongly out, around mouth to the east along foreshore. Also to west & out to sea
  • Waves entering channel & travelling north & east in estuary
  • Ocean beach very wide with higher area at east end
  • Severe impact from recent high seas -damage to all dunes & new 1-2m deep channels cut through formerly sand filled rocky areas at east end of beach. Low track much debris & erosion
  • Small waves travelling across uncovered sand bar in estuary
  • North end of channel where it turns into estuary has sheer sides about 20-40m high

  • Dark discharge out around mouth into high sea
  • Waves entering across a wide area up channel travelling north & east (wind driven)- in all directions at mouth
  • Waves up to base of dunes & more damage both here & in estuary from high sea 31/07/14
  • While water is currently dark & dirty it was reported that 'clear green water with wind slop waves 30cm. high' was going up past Princetown township on 31/07/14)

  • Dark discharge around mouth, out to sea directly in front of mouth & to west
  • Waves entering channel & turning east into estuary
  • Longshore drift active
  • Beach wide & gently sloping to sea
  • Sandbar exposed & low track only has water in deep channels
  • East side of channel where it turns east into estuary has steep, sheer side (1m.) rest of channel downstream has been smoothed out
